Mutinous Captain Hector Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) from Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean," depicted on a salad plate.
The movie this time, not the attraction. Or... Right, they've since added an audioanimatronic Barbossa to the attraction.
But he replaced Paul Frees, captain of the Wicked Wench! I like Paul Frees. Too much microwaving caused Barbossa
to crack much more than is comfortable for me, so the plate has been taken out of service as a food dish.
I also painted the tentacled Captain Davey Jones (Bill Nighy), also from Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean" (2 and 3)
trilogy. I may have used a small sponge for the mottling effect on his tentacles.
In case you're wondering, I did attempt to paint Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), but capturing his likeness continues
to elude me. No pics yet, then, but I'll post any pics of my second attempt, whenever that is.

If my paint-your-own-mug place had charged by the hour, this one would've cost me a fortune. This took an unexpected
four hours to paint, all while my best friend was waiting for me at a coffee shop, reading. (It's a
good thing that coffee shops no longer care if you buy coffee from them?)
For those unfamiliar with this image, it's one of the small shields placed on the two brick pillars at the entrance of
Disneyland's Haunted Mansion. Possibly Walt Disney World's version, too, but don't quote me on that. I'm not the
world's biggest fan of the attraction (that may be the distinction of the gentleman running http://www.doombuggies.com), but I wouldn't mind "retiring" there someday as the 1,000th guest.
